Nick Marshall

Assistant Professor Nick is a titled sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapist who, as well as being one of the co-founding principle partners of ‘Surf life Physio’ , continues to have an education and teaching role at both Bond and Griffith University, lecturing and teaching in a range of different topics and areas. Nick was the Medical Manager for the 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as now being the director of Medical services for the Australian Lifesaving Team. Nick is currently one of the physiotherapists with Swimming Australia, as well as with the Australian junior rowing team and in the 2021 Australian Olympic boxing team. He has been the Physiotherapist for the Samoan Rugby League Team as well as the junior Gold Coast Sunsets and Gold Coast Suns Under 16s State Championship sides. Nick continues to travel with the Queensland State Surf Lifesaving Team, Australian Surf Lifesaving Team and the National Surf Life Saving High Performance Squad. More recently he has been employed by the NRL to be game day Physiotherapist for the NRL referees which sees him on the field at all Broncos and Titans home games as well as Test matches and state of Origin and he also works for the QRL referees.

Troy Eady

Troy has been in private practice for 28 years. The result of 28 years of treating musculoskeletal injuries and 28 years of professional development is accurate diagnosis, timely management decisions and appropriate treatment regimes.

Troy has worked closely with GPs, Orthopaedic specialists, rehabilitation consultants and professional sporting groups. He has consulted to National teams and professional sports and is a director of an Occupational Physiotherapy company Task Fit Solutions which provides injury prevention strategies in the aviation industry.

“My goal has always been to provide a service that minimises the injury time frame and restores pre injury function as quickly as able utilising good communication with stakeholders, best practice treatment regimes and specific rehabilitation programming for the assessed biomechanical deficits.

A founder of Surf Life Physio Troy has built this premier surf sports practice to be the preferred provider to numerous national sporting teams and professional athletes. Surf Life Physio has always prided itself to support our Physiotherapy staff to travel with National teams be involved with Olympic athletes and organisations like the AIS and QAS and fulfil their professional aspirations. Surf Life Physio has also helped many aspiring athletes to achieve their sporting goals through great physio, financial support or flexible employment.

Elissa Van Bodegraven

After seeing first hand how beneficial Clinical Pilates is to injury management and prevention Elissa decided to specialise in the practice. She has 14 years of clinical experience with injuries & postural complaints, has treated a range of clients from retirees to the office worker and all levels of athletes & has a special interest in back pain management & post surgery rehabilitation. She has seen at all stages of life how beneficial Clinical Pilates can be for improving your physical & emotional well being. A keen runner & lover of travel, wine & her dog, Elissa looks forward to meeting you at the reformer!

Sophie Moore

Sophie is our token AFL lover, she comes from Melbourne. She is a very keen triathlete and loves all things sport. Sophie has just started at Surf Life Physio and people are recognising her knowledge, skills and empathy and in a very short period this happy young lady has become a go to for young athletes and weekend worriers alike. 

 Sophie graduated from LaTrobe University with a Masters of Physiotherapy practice and has an interest in lower limb injuries, training load management and rehab for female athletes. Sophie offers a combination of exercise-based and hands-on treatment, and will strive to keep you active whilst recovering from your injury.  Sophie is also currently working in a physio capacity at the Gold Coast Suns Academy, and has previously been a sports trainer with Carlton Football Club and West Preston Lakeside Football Club.

 On the weekends you’ll most likely find Soph at a run club, indulging in an açai bowl or exploring the coast.
