Nick Marshall
Assistant Professor Nick is a titled sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapist who, as well as being one of the co-founding principle partners of ‘Surf life Physio’ , continues to have an education and teaching role at both Bond and Griffith University, lecturing and teaching in a range of different topics and areas. Nick was the Medical Manager for the 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as now being the director of Medical services for the Australian Lifesaving Team. Nick is currently one of the physiotherapists with Swimming Australia, as well as with the Australian junior rowing team and in the 2021 Australian Olympic boxing team. He has been the Physiotherapist for the Samoan Rugby League Team as well as the junior Gold Coast Sunsets and Gold Coast Suns Under 16s State Championship sides. Nick continues to travel with the Queensland State Surf Lifesaving Team, Australian Surf Lifesaving Team and the National Surf Life Saving High Performance Squad. More recently he has been employed by the NRL to be game day Physiotherapist for the NRL referees which sees him on the field at all Broncos and Titans home games as well as Test matches and state of Origin and he also works for the QRL referees.

Josh Carter
Doctor of Physiotherapy with a special interest in sports and musculoskeletal injuries. He has spent a number of years working for a range of Brisbane and Gold Coast sporting codes such as rugby league and union, AFL, Track & Field, soccer and cricket. Consequently he has a thorough understanding of the injuries that occur in sport and the treatment required.
He takes pride in exercise prescription to rehabilitate individuals from all sectors of life whether that is sport, work, leisure or day to day life.
Josh is heavily involved in the world of stand up paddle boarding (SUP) as both a competitor and physiotherapist. He is the first Australian Stand Up Paddle Boarding Team Physiotherapist and has provided physiotherapy for the Queensland State Titles, Australian Titles, local SUPSA club events and has treated some of the best stand up paddler's in the world. In his spare time, Josh can be found stand up paddle boarding, surfing, playing guitar and cracking some awesome dad jokes.
Elissa Van Bodegraven
After seeing first hand how beneficial Clinical Pilates is to injury management and prevention Elissa decided to specialise in the practice. She has 14 years of clinical experience with injuries & postural complaints, has treated a range of clients from retirees to the office worker and all levels of athletes & has a special interest in back pain management & post surgery rehabilitation. She has seen at all stages of life how beneficial Clinical Pilates can be for improving your physical & emotional well being. A keen runner & lover of travel, wine & her dog, Elissa looks forward to meeting you at the reformer!
Sophie Moore
Sophie is our token AFL lover she comes from Melbourne is a very keen triathlete and loves all things sport.
Sophie has just started at Surf Life Physio and people are recognising her knowledge, skills and empathy and in a very short period this happy young lady has become a go to for young athletes and weekend worriers a like. Sophie graduated from LaTrobe University with a Masters of Physiotherapy practice and has previously been a sports trainer with Carlton Football club and West Preston Lakeside Football Club.
Lucy Douglas
Lucy has undertaken 5 years of studying, completing a double degree in Exercise Science and a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Bond University.
She has worked alongside the QAFL, NRL officiating squad and school boys Rugby Union in sports training and physiotherapy management.
Being very injury prone within her own sporting career, she has a special interest in Sports Physiotherapy, and has a huge passion towards musculoskeletal injury prevention/management and treatment at all levels and sports. Lucy is also passionate about the exercise components of rehabilitation, as well as providing hands on manual therapy.
Lucy has a passion and love for the ocean; in her spare time you will find her swimming, surfing, paddling, and most likely getting dumped!
Troy Eady
Troy initially graduated as a registered Nurse and worked in a busy emergency department of a metropolitan hospital before returning to university to study Physiotherapy and focus on musculoskeletal injuries. Graduating in 1996 Troy immediately chased his goal to do sports physiotherapy, long story short Troy completed up to level 3 sports physiotherapy training and became the Australian Life Saving Team Physiotherapist and the Nutri Grain Ironman series Physiotherapist, After travelling the world in this role for 20 years he settled to the Northern Rivers of NSW and started to do further training in Occupational Physiotherapy. Troy has been a popular private practice practitioner for nearly 30 years with a wealth of knowledge and experience managing musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunction for professional and elite sports people to corporate work injury consulting and general musculoskeletal problems if it’s a musculoskeletal problems Troy has seen it.
Troy remains a very active person, surfing when he can and maintaining a regular exercise routine of paddling, swimming and Pilates and with a personal training and coaching background, biomechanics, exercise and general conditioning are high on the list of the tools he uses to restore function following an injury. Troy is a hands-on Physiotherapist who from his extensive experience can provide an accurate diagnosis and a specific rehabilitation program quickly to minimise lost time from sport or work and restore pre injury function.
